Dreaming of the wild is an architecture and design dissertation that explores the connection between our civilisation and the wilderness. It is formalised in structures and objects throughout our history. To understand what stimulates our perception of our surroundings, this dissertation invites you on a journey through time with different contextualised, described and analysed examples. This journey through our imagination, stimulated by the wild space, begins with an encounter with the animal of our imagination, continues with the idealised plant kingdom and ends with the landscape. Reading it will take you from one example to the next, as you explore the multiple facets of civilisations through various countries and times.
