This filmed dissertation talks about adolescence in cinema, and more besides. It also explores the relationships that teenagers can have with the big screen.It features interviews with sixth-form students, film clips, voice-overs and archive extracts. It attempts to decipher the drifting social and cultural representations in cinema by addressing identification, family context and new consumer formats. It also looks at the phenomenon of the teen movie, generational differences, creative processes and the interest of filmmakers in the theme of adolescence.It reveals what I have seen, what they have seen, what I cannot claim to show with my words. I do not invent anything; I show what I see.
