There is a vital connection between the way a church modulates light and the mystery that it attempts to illustrate. Today, religious architecture is largely focused on the light as a manifestation of the divine. In this study, we have attempted to extract examples of Catholic architecture, particular designs and uses of light based on the meaning they offer. The aim was to expand my understanding of how an important factor of an architectural project can be modulated. The buildings studied, in which light is formally indissociable from its characterisation, invite us to discover the different statuses that light can have.
