This project emerges from two paradoxes of disco: its hedonistic spirit and its revolutionary nature, both of which got people moving for over a decade. This movement continues to resonate today, which is why the exhibition brings the visitor to the stage, to immortalise these values. They are presented with three worlds. The first is based on the social approach of disco. An interactive programme gives viewers agency as they discover artworks and music simultaneously. They then experience the cultural effervescence of the 70s as they work their way through textile artworks and modules. Here, visitors dance and parade to the rhythm of this immersive, disco-like scenography. They take in the musical world of disco through listening devices, cadenced by the animated artworks.
