Disco is not just a musical genre, it is also architecture, a liberation of the body, a way of life. We propose an audiovisual journey through this world. Visitors explore among two museographic narratives. The sections characterising the movement’s means of expression gravitate around a historical, social and political odyssey. A great deal of focus has been placed on the immersive element in order to capture the expression of an era from the very beginning. Visitors are immersed in a 1970s’ discotheque. The project is structured around a framework inspired by Italian radical architecture. As they freely explore the exhibition, in which bodies move away from and towards one another, visitors experience a collision of two worlds that gave rise to disco and have come to characterise it.
