The word “Trabendo” means contraband, the black market, the forbidden. What comes over us, in the dark and forbidden hours of the night, when shops are closed, people go home and all that remains is the empty streets. These streets are the site of trafficking, the banned and the illicit. The atmosphere of the street is determined by its light; from well-lit, festive and lively streets to darker ones, with their subdued and even sometimes frightening light, through the light created by passing cars. There are other elements in this nighttime world: from fog to noise, and the exaggerated shadows of passers-by. These are the different moments of the street that we aim to incorporate into our project, through work on lighting, signage and the use of materials such as concrete, asphalt, metal.
