By overlooking the château and its heritage, the town of Herbier has ended up scattered with lost ruins from the former estate. Today, they are like ghosts in a setting that is at once rural and industrial. This observation raises the question of how to revive the ruin and showcase a heritage that has been forgotten despite its incredible value. Located among a forest, several secondary and high schools, an industrial space and a housing area, the ruins of the château are at the heart of the local circulation route, which is why the project’s key aim is to support residents. It has three separate time scales. A historical walk, a historical/botanical garden that is home to the glass dome – the heart of the project – and a community kitchen garden.
