Since 1943, Lebanon's story has ceased to be officially written. Several demographic, religious and political factors have changed the country’s history. It is difficult to talk about a past that is neither written down nor experienced; all we have is a collective memory inherited from our ancestors. It is difficult to remember, but we must never forget. We must keep on living, preserving scars and embellishing them without actually hiding them, instead living with them, accepting them. We must build a present from the ruins of a past that has not been forgotten. This is not only a project to renovate a traditional Lebanese house, but also to restore hope and create a contrasting vocabulary that is infinitely transformed with time.
