Bread makes us consider the state of a world in which everything fits together. With its nourishing role, bread has been in turn desired, industrialised and demonised, but always remained sacred. Throughout history, it speaks of materialism and belief, abundance and rarity. But bread is also a medium for work.Often, it is a living material for the artisan who makes it, and a daily food for the person who consumes it. But sometimes, when it is no longer intended for eating, its symbolism, its appearance, the asperity and transparency of its texture and odour can serve artistic creation.
