Have you ever seen the film Groundhog Day, or felt like you were experiencing and re-experiencing the same thing, like Phil Connors in Harold Ramis’ film? Nietzsche issues us the same injunction: “Live your life in such a way that you would wish it could be repeated eternally.” This is what I would like to recreate in my work, the phenomenon of déjà vu, the individual experience that nevertheless remains a universal sentiment. Through an imagined meal, I put forward a range of objects and different scenographies. I extract something else from this initial scene, from this single moment, to the point of exhaustion. In this way, if this dinner were to be repeated indefinitely, it would contain the same ingredients but would never taste the same way.
